Common causes of hernias

Posted on September 8th, 2011 No Comments

A hernia can come in many forms and occurs when a portion of an organ or intestine protrudes through a weak area of surrounding tissue or muscle.

Hernias are most commonly found in the inner groin, outer groin, belly button, upper stomach, or as the result of an incision. The scientific terms are inguinal, femoral, umbilical, hiatal, and incisional, respectively.

Some of the causes of hernias include heavy lifting, coughing, chronic lung disease,

the abdominal cavity having fluid, and obesity. Each of these conditions increases pressure on the abdominal cavity, which can lead to a hernia.

AlloDerm is a mesh graft that has been used in hernia patch surgeries. However, complications can arise from defective patches which lead to painful side effects.

If you have been injured by a defective AlloDerm hernia repair patch, you may be entitled to compensation. Contact the AlloDerm lawsuit attorneys of Williams Kherkher by calling 800-761-3187 to discuss your case today.
