Have There Been Other Controversies Concerning AlloDerm?
Apart from the graft failure and defective product controversy that currently surrounds the product, the makers of AlloDerm have been involved in controversy in the past. In 2006, LifeCell was involved in a scandal concerning the harvesting of tissue from deceased persons who had not given their consent to the process. An investigation by the Brooklyn DA indicted four individuals, although LifeCell itself was not charged.
