Alabama football player undergoes double hernia surgery

Posted on February 15th, 2012 No Comments

Alabama safety, Mark Barron, underwent double hernia surgery to repair two separate sports hernias. He will subsequently be recovering for the next six to eight weeks.

His recovery time conflicts with the NFL scouting sessions that are set to take place in Indianapolis on February 22. This injury may hurt Barron’s chances of being drafted at a high spot in the NFL draft on April 26. He has been ranked as the top safety that is entering the draft, but his injuries could change his outcome.

Barron has dealt with different sports-related injuries for the past two seasons of his Alabama football career. The double hernia surgery took place in January, and he will most likely still be recovering during Alabama’s Pro Day that is scheduled for March 7.
