Common AlloDerm Injuries

Posted on April 1st, 2011 No Comments

A new study shows that patients with AlloDerm skin graft matrices are more likely to undergo an explant procedures than patients with a different graft.

According to a new study, eight percent of AlloDerm patients required an explant procedure. In a control group of patients with different skin graft matrices, only two percent required an explant procedure. This startling data is likely linked to a number of adverse side effects of an AlloDerm graft, including:

– Pain and discomfort

– Bruising

– Abscess development

– Infection

– Graft rejection

– Swelling
