What is AlloDerm?

AlloDerm is an acellular cadaveric tissue matrix. This means that it is made from skin tissue taken from deceased donors, then processed to remove living cells. It is used as an alternative to traditional skin grafts, which are conducted using unprocessed donated skin. It is generally considered safer than a traditional skin graft, because the removal of living cells reduces the chances that the recipient’s body will reject the graft.

However, AlloDerm is not without its risks, particularly for patients who received a hernia patch on or before the year 2000. If you have suffered from post-surgical complications and believe the use of AlloDerm was the cause, you be eligible to receive compensation.
