Football Player Akers Facing Professional Complications due to Hernia Issues

Posted on January 14th, 2013 No Comments

David Akers, a kicker for the San Francisco 49ers, had a double sports hernia surgery in February of 2012 and faced almost a year of recovery, rehabilitation, and ongoing complications due to the surgery. Now he is facing additional professional pressure as the team has hired Billy Cundiff to potentially play in the divisional playoff game for the 49ers.

Although Akers started the season off well, making a 63-yard kick against Green Bay, he started missing much shorter kicks later in the season, especially after he fell during practice in November, irritating the injury.

Like Akers, many people have had hernia surgery, and a number of these have received an AlloDerm patch in their procedure. Unfortunately, AlloDerm has been shown to cause serious and painful complications for some people. If this is the case for you, call an AlloDerm lawyer of Williams Hart at 800-761-3187 today.
