Pelvic organ prolapse in women

Posted on November 9th, 2011 No Comments

The medical condition, pelvic organ prolapse, usually affects older women who have had children. This condition occurs when the muscles around the pelvic area lose strength allowing other organs to obtrude through the area housing them.

A common repair for this condition is the use of a surgical mesh graft.

Recently, these surgical mesh grafts have come under fire for not translating well in the pelvic area. Due to the high amounts of flexibility in the pelvic area, these mesh grafts begin disintegrating over time.

This degrading action can cause serious problems including; pain and swelling and urinary tract problems.

If you or someone you know has developed a problem after the use of surgical mesh grafts to fix pelvic organ prolapse, please contact the AlloDerm lawsuit lawyers of Williams Hart by calling 800-761-3187 today.
