Reports of AlloDerm skin grafts causing infection

Posted on September 30th, 2010 No Comments

Complications have been reported after the use of AlloDerm, a skin graft used mainly when patching a hernia or for reconstructive breast surgery.

The complications include infection, pain, soreness, abscess and swelling. The infection can be very severe and may need another surgery, which may cause more pain and suffering for the patient.

AlloDerm was developed in 1994 by LifeCell and it uses skin cells donated by human skin tissue from a tissue bank. In 2005, the first recall of AlloDerm products came out after questions were raised of the documentation of one of the tissue donors that was received from a recovery organization.

If you or a loved one has experienced problems with an AlloDerm hernia patch, contact the AlloDerm infection lawsuit lawyers of Williams Khekher by calling 800-761-3187 today.
