Texas Rangers player has surgery to repair sports hernia

Posted on November 22nd, 2011 No Comments

Josh Hamilton, the Texas Rangers outfielder, had surgery last week to fix a sports hernia on his left side. The popular MLB player felt the pain through most of the World Series but opted to play through it.

Sports hernias consist largely of constant pain in the groin area. This pain can be caused by a lack in the front of the abdominal wall.

The 30-year-old is said to be recovering well from surgery and there are no reported complications. The baseball season has ended and he is expected to be able to begin spring training on schedule with the rest of his teammates once he finishes physical therapy.

It is common for the material, AlloDerm, to be used in hernia repair surgeries. Recently, this surgical mesh has been linked to numerous side effects. If you have suffered a side effect due to the use of AlloDerm, please contact the AlloDerm lawsuit attorneys of Williams Hart by callling 800-761-3187 today.
