The origins of AlloDerm

Posted on May 15th, 2012 No Comments

AlloDerm is a surgical skin graft mesh that is comprised of human skin tissue. The biotechnology company LifeCell created AlloDerm in 1994, and it aided in the large revenue increase for LifeCell between 2003 and 2004.

AlloDerm was designed for use in rhinoplasties, hernia repair surgeries, and breast reconstruction surgeries, among others.

However, a large AlloDerm rejection rate has been discovered in hernia repair operations. Side effects of this mesh can include the development of infection and the erosion of the mesh.

If AlloDerm was used in your hernia repair surgery and you are now experiencing painful side effects, please contact the AlloDerm lawsuit lawyers of Williams Kherkher by calling 800-761-3187 today.
