Why was AlloDerm recalled?

Posted on November 5th, 2010 No Comments

The manufacturer of AlloDerm, the LifeCell Coporation, was accused in September 2005 of faulty medical documentation.

The Food and Drug Administration assisted Lifecell in issuing a voluntary recall of AlloDerm. The recall was issued in response to controversy over how BioMedical Tissues Services (BTS), a company that supplied LifeCell with tissue for AlloDerm, had obtained those tissues.

There was concern that BTS had been taking tissues from the cadavers of those who did not give permission for that kind of procedure while still alive.

If you have been harmed by the AlloDerm recall, you may have grounds for filing a legal claim.
